The Rotterdam Conference is being organised in collaboration with the International Design in Government Community (started by the Government Digital Service in the UK) and Gebruiker Centraal. We are open to collaboration with other organisations.
Gebruiker Centraal (translated: User Needs First) is a Dutch knowledge Community for professionals working on (online) government services. The Community strives for user-friendly government. Gebruiker Centraal facilitates the Dutch Community with events and tools: More than 35 events have been organised, including two annual Conferences each with around 60 workshops and attracting around 500 participants. See the video’s of the 2017 and 2018 Conferences. The core of the Community is formed by an Action Team consisting of a small paid staff and around 20 volunteers working throughout the Dutch Government.
For the 2019 Conference we are joining forces with the International Design in Government Community. We have taken this step for several reasons: it will help us achieve our goal of making User Centered Design the default approach for government policy and delivery our government and there is much to learn, adopt and adapt from international initiatives.
The Rotterdam Conference will be one of three International Design in Government events in 2019.
