The Rotterdam conference is organized in collaboration with the International Design in Government community (started by the Government Digital Service in the UK) and Gebruiker Centraal. We are open to collaboration with other organizations.
Gebruiker Centraal (translated: User Needs First) is a Dutch knowledge community for professionals working on (online) government services. The community strives for a user-friendly government. Gebruiker Centraal facilitates the Dutch community with events and instruments. They have organized more than 35 events, including two annual festivals with around 500 participants, each featuring about 60 workshops. See the video’s of the 2017 and 2018 editions. The core of the community is formed by an action team consisting of a small paid staff and around 20 volunteers working throughout the Dutch government.
For 2019 we are joining forces with the International Design in Government community. For several reasons: it will help reach the goal to make User Centered Design the default approach in policy and delivery in our government. And there is much to learn, adopt and adapt from international initiatives.
The Rotterdam conference will be one of three International Design in Government events in 2019.
