Closing thoughts: “Beware! Our past is killing our future”

In 1990, Jef Staes made a dramatic career switch from software engineer in digital telephony to training manager and Corporate Learning Officer. Since then Jef always wondered why today’s Educational System and Human Resources Management are not able to create the right learning and working environment, that enables and energizes passion for talents. For Jef it’s a paradox … we are living in a world of digital and information luxe but at the same time organisations and education are not able to embrace real disruptive innovation and solve the challenges our world is facing. They unintentionally transformed talented students and adults into passionless sheep. Based on my practical experience I will introduce the ‘Power Defect’ as an explanation for this paradox and ‘Red Monkey Innovation Management’ to solve this paradox.
