There are unique challenges for individuals when it comes to accessing a service that isn’t in their primary language. It’s not just about translating content from one language to another – language is complex; it spans formats, cultures and contexts. In this session we will share how we at WSIB approached conducting research with language minorities.

I studied interaction design at Sheridan College and my thesis work was focused on caregiving in dementia care. I conducted research in long term care homes and with caregivers, co-creating and prototyping a solution to document care preferences.
